Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of being anti-Albanian since the time he was leading the opposition.
During today's protest that is taking place in support of the opposition leader below his apartment, Berisha emphasized that when his government liberalized visas, Rama as an anti-Albanian sent delegations to the EU and threatened Europe that 800 thousand Albanians would flock to Brussels.

It often happens that we find the cause of the weakness of our attitudes in internationals. It is Balkan, not only Albanian, to remove responsibilities from oneself or address them to others.
Even these days, there are not a few who blame the internationals for supporting the dictatorship of Edi Rama and not defending the opposition.
Even in this context, the great historical injustices that the great powers did to the Albanians 100 years ago are sometimes evoked.
I think that this is not right today, because in the last decades of the last century and the beginning of this century, the USA and other international partners have played a decisive role in the freedom of Albanians, and we must never forget that the DP was founded and it is and will remain, the party of the western vocation of the Albanian nation, this factor is the cornerstone of our national identity, of our existence as a nation.
We must never forget that PD is the engine of Albania's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
At a time when others lobbied against the country's membership in the Council of Europe, we signed its membership in this institution in Strasbourg.
At a time when Rama was blowing the whistle for months in parliament to block the signing of the Stabilization-Association agreement in signing this agreement with the EU in Luxembourg.
At a time when Rama was demonstrating in the squares of Tirana with portraits of Enver Hoxha as a protest of Albania's membership in NATO, we raised the proud flag of Skanderbeg among the proud flags of NATO countries in Brussels at the headquarters of the Alliance.
At a time when we were receiving the recommendation for the liberalization of visas, Edi Rama, as an anti-Albanian, sent letters and delegations threatening Europe that over 800,000 Albanians would flock to Brussels if their visas were revoked.
At a time when we were in the midst of successful reforms, we received the recommendation of candidate status from the EU. Edi Rama, as an anti-Albanian, blocked it by blocking the voting of three laws that had been fully agreed upon.
