The Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla, in his speech at the interpellation called by MP Ervin Salianji, has accused the opposition as he stated that during the time they were in the government, the amount of drugs produced in Lazarat was twice the budget of the state.
Balla says that the operation "Rule of Law" is giving results, for the characters who avoid justice and who move around with weapons, as he adds that 2 criminal groups have been hit and 1225 people have been brought to justice.
"Compared to 2013 when the minister of the interior was the chief deputy leader. I am quoting the commander of the Guardia Di financias bastion on August 5, 2013. "In Lazarat, narcotics can reach 900 tons and 4.5 billion euros can be earned from the sale. / This means that the narcotics produced in Lazarat were twice the state budget when you were in government.
The war on drugs is guaranteeing us safe schools and communities. During the operations, 32 criminal groups were hit and 1,225 people were brought to justice, who are both leaders, producers, distributors and traffickers. The good thing is that in 98% of cases the Prosecutor's Office and the Court have approved the 'arrest on the spot' measures. I am very proud today that, as the interior minister, we have Albania as a member of the national collation against synthetic drugs, and thanks to the vote here, we have made serious steps in this aspect, and other things.
Operation 'Rule of Law' is yielding results for the characters who evade justice and move around the neighborhood with guns. For the first time, extraditions are being carried out from countries with which we did not have an agreement. As for economic crime, we have dozens of cases with 4,017 perpetrators, and we are also moving forward with the seizure of illegal assets ," said Balla.
