Interior Minister Taulant Balla held a meeting today with the structures of the Local Police Directorate of Tirana where he thanked the blue uniforms for the mega operation which led to the arrest of 233 drug dealers and made it possible to attack 23 criminal networks.
Balla emphasizes that such operations are a significant indicator of the seriousness and commitment of the State Police against any illegal activity.
"We have managed to give the first big blow, even though it is a work that has been carried out month after month, year after year, but the truth is that the national operation "Tempulli" is one of those blows that makes every member of organization of the State Police.
I take the opportunity today to thank not only the structures of the State Police, but also the prosecutors and judges who cooperated with the State Police during this operation, which continues.
I believe that the State Police received a very positive evaluation from the public for this attack. This is a significant indicator of the seriousness and commitment of the State Police against any illegal activity. This operation marked one of the most successful moments of the investigative work of the police structures," said Balla.
Also, Balla has once again underlined the importance of creating a security perimeter around schools and has stated that the police will act against any type of illegal and criminal activity.
" And while it is a little more than a week from the beginning of the school year, where we presented the School Security Package, which is based on the creation of a security perimeter around schools, the police are hitting hard with all the force of the law, any kind of illegal and criminal activity", said the minister.
Balla has stated that more work is needed to identify the wanted persons and states that there will be cooperation with Europol and Interpol. Balla also points out the fact that the European Interpol Conference will be organized in Albania for the first time and this also comes as an appreciation for the work and achievements of the Albanian State Police.
" We already have a list of priorities or as we call them 'most wanted', for which I look forward to that list being dismantled one by one interacting here not only within our space with all other law enforcement bodies, but we will to increase cooperation with Europol and Interpol. Very soon we will be at the headquarters of Interpol, precisely to open a new chapter and to identify all wanted Albanians around the world. And I also believe that you have been informed that we will organize the European Interpol Conference in Albania for the first time, and this also comes as an appreciation for the work and achievements of the Albanian State Police", stated Balla .
