Former President Bamir Topi, invited to the "Drejt" show on Ora News, has given a bleak overview of the political situation in Albania, describing it as a farce that continues without any new elements.
" I have not seen any new element in this political situation that comes after the prime minister's meeting at the socialist assembly. In a way, it is the same paraphrase, so we watch the same black and white film. Even those films that come out every 2-3 days on a dedicated station where nostalgics certainly have some kind of attraction to watch. The rest certainly have other interests ," Topi said.
He added that Edi Rama's rhetoric relies more on virtual communication than on the reality experienced by citizens.
" The latest show tends to go in two lines. One line is the virtual line, even the one that dominates the public communication of the prime minister. While we experience the real situation. The virtual situation is in the rhetorical communication of where Rama will reach as prime minister. He thinks that by articulating exactly this type of line, many Albanians will only grasp the superficial part. Many others are no longer interested, while the opposition has unfortunately fallen into the game of gimmicks created by Rama ," he said.
Topi did not hide his disappointment about the state of Albanian democracy: " It's a bit harsh to say this, but it's true. If politics in democratic societies is an instrument to build the standards of the future, here politics in Albania is a big mockery that is taken seriously by many categories ."
