The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has responded to Prime Minister Edi Rama, who asked the opposition to vote on the SP's anti-corruption resolution.
After Rama's speech, Bardhi said that such an initiative would be unbelievable, since Rama himself is the architect of the criminalization of institutions.
He emphasized that there is no need for resolutions but for acts and actions. Among other things, Bardhi said that even for Arben Ndoka, Rama said that he is a deputy, but it turned out that he ordered murder.
"The only positive thing that I can single out in this government and from this prime minister today, even though it took him more than 4000 days to understand, is his acceptance that we finally wanted a special effort, different and determined against the corruption of this government. The fight against widespread corruption that has taken root like never before under the administration of Prime Minister Edi Rama, must be treated by the Assembly as a national priority, because this is a matter of critical importance for the future of Albania:
But such an initiative would be reliable, something positive for the country, it would be serious, only if those who propose it are themselves serious and ready to fight corruption.
The DP Parliamentary Group has supported and strongly supports the fight against corruption, good governance and the rule of law. We are the ones who have fought for this for 11 years, with the most corrupt government of these 34 years, the most corrupt in the European Region.
· We are the ones who have denounced the corrupt affair of the incinerators with facts. Edi Rama defended him.
We are the ones who denounced the affair with corrupt contracts in the health sector. Edi Rama defended him.
· We are the ones who have denounced corruption in the Municipality of Tirana. Edi Rama defended him.
We are the ones who have denounced the corruption in the State Police that brought about the cannabisization of the country. Edi Rama defended him.
We are the ones fighting for zero tolerance to electoral corruption. Edi Rama is its architect.
We are the ones who fight against the governance and empowerment of organized crime, as the only option that allows good governance and respect for the rule of law. Edi Rama is the architect of the criminalization of institutions, putting the democratic functioning of public institutions at serious risk.
Fighting corruption needs neither words nor resolutions. There is a need for acts, for actions. Edi Rama had 11 years to show us at least one act, one action, that has the will to fight corruption, has the will to govern well, has the will to respect the rule of law.
But unfortunately, like everything else, he considers the fight against corruption to be a matter of propaganda or PR, he fights it with words, while his deeds are completely opposite. And for propaganda and words, Albania has lost 11 years, because Edi Rama says something else, promises something else, and does something completely different.
During the last 11 years, Edi Rama's government has repeatedly demonstrated that it is not the beacon of progress and transparency it claims to be, but rather a regime that inspires and perpetuates corruption at all levels of society. Therefore, as Edi Rama proposes a resolution to fight corruption, we must carefully examine his record and ask if his goals are consistent with the actions and policies that have characterized his mandate.
Since taking office in 2013, Rama has led a government that has been repeatedly accused of corruption, nepotism and misappropriation of public funds. Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index consistently ranks Albania among the most corrupt countries in Europe. Despite this, Rama's government has done little to address these concerns, often taking steps that exacerbate rather than alleviate the problem.
Rama's administration has also been riddled with scandals involving PPPs and government concessions. These agreements, often covered with "Secret", are agreements with a lack of transparency and for the benefit of a narrow circle of businesses with close ties to the government. This pattern of awarding lucrative contracts to politically connected firms undermines fair competition and erodes public trust in government. This model has nothing to do with good governance or even less with the rule of law.
When everyone raised their voice about the incinerators, Edi Rama released a video about how much waste was burned in European countries and how good this was for the environment, putting his government and public money at the disposal of advertisements for the benefit of Klodian Zoto and Mërtir . He took his parliamentary group and sent it as a shield to the crime scene, from one incinerator to another. When we were talking about concessions in health, the prominent anthropologist of the 21st century, Edi Rama, told us how tall you had to be to be a thief. As much as Ilir Beqja, that is, more or less the height of Edi Rama. Later, he also came out as a gynecologist with birth surgery tools in hand, study after study. He never understood that he is there not to protect the thieves, but to guard the money of the Albanians, a duty that he deeply and solemnly squandered with great damage.
How is it possible that a Prime Minister who claims to be out of these corrupt affairs, never did a verification for the sake of the citizens, for the sake of transparency and for the sake of all those who minimally expressed doubt? Nothing, except that he let them steal till the end, and when they fell into the net of justice, now he sees them fall like rotten apples.
There is greater hypocrisy than Edi Rama saying that he has the will to make reforms that ensure the good governance of the country. Isn't this the same individual who, for "good governance", offered the citizens of Lezha the governance of Arben Ndoka, the citizens of Kruja the governance of Rrahman Rrahja, and so on in every city, which were governed by delegation from Edi Rama during the day , at dinner they made plans on how to kill each other or the citizens they governed. And this is silent, cannot say a word, not an apology to the citizens who instead of their representatives offer representatives of organized crime to govern, even "leaders of structured criminal groups".
Was it not the proposer of this Resolution who bribed a foreign official, former FBI agent McGonigal, for the sake of his power? How can Edi Rama be trusted when he says that he will improve the legislative process to prevent conflicts of interest and lobbying for private interests during lawmaking, while after submitting the draft resolution, exactly one week ago, within 24 hours he proposed changes to the law for the privatization of state properties, on behalf of his clients. Isn't this the same one who postponed the law on strategic investments 5 times on behalf of Pëllumb Gjoka? Even this one, with Edi Rama's signature, became a strategic investor during the day, while at night he ordered murders. You heard him say, I was wrong, with my signature I empowered an exponent of organized crime.
He cannot say it, because he governed with them, because he won the elections with them, according to the principle "to steal Albania to steal the elections, and to steal the elections to steal Albania". By undermining free and fair elections, Edi Rama has eroded the foundation of democracy and perpetuated a system where corruption is not simply tolerated, but actively used as a political tool," he said.
