The head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has held a meeting with the elected representatives of this political force in the municipal councils. During his speech, Basha said that if more than 120 voices will be heard for the interests of the citizens, they are not few, but many.
According to him, citizens should not fall into the trap of numbers and added that everyone is to blame for the Albanian political environment.
"In the elections of May 14, as a result of those reasons that all citizens know, DP was far from the result and the traditional representation in the Municipal Councils in the 61 municipalities of the country. But despite the fight from all directions of those who want to preserve this situation, they did not succeed in preventing the representation of DP in every municipal council. It is the biggest mistake to fall into the trap of numbers.
The discussion today is closed in a room dozens of times smaller than this one, it is closed in numbers, in the power of a few people. Even big numbers don't always serve big interests. Nothing that is not good for our citizens, cannot be good for DP. Those who sit for the first time as representatives of the voters, then in this hall there is not only real opposition, but more.
Over 120 voices, if they resonate for the interests of the citizens who voted for you, are not few, but many. Even more is done if we bear in mind that in this situation where the country is, there are few voices among the 140 deputies who speak about the problems of the people. We are all witnesses and guilty of the fact that today in the Albanian political debate, elected or appointed politicians talk about all kinds of things, but little or nothing about what matters to the people", said Basha .
