Prime Minister Edi Rama has confessed in an interview how art and drawing are an important part of his daily life and help him maintain balance during his work.
During a conversation with Richard Attias, organizer of the FII International Forum in Tirana, Rama said that during meetings he often draws, which helps him focus and calm down.
"When there's an intense topic and I don't have anything to draw, I get nervous very quickly. The opposite happens when I draw, you wait for your moment to 'kill' and you don't jump on everyone ," Rama said.
He added that this passion also served him well in his early days as mayor, where with few resources he began painting buildings with colors, later moving on to other artistic forms.
In the interview, Rama also commented on a study by the Department of Psychology at MIT, which proved that people who draw during meetings are more focused and less stressed.
" When your eye and hand are occupied with something else, you are automatically focused on what is being talked about, " he added.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that despite the statement that we need artists to govern, he thinks it has nothing to do with the profession, but with the person.
"You can have an artist who is terrible and a lawyer who is fantastic at governing," Rama concluded.
