Analyst Edvin Kulluri has also commented on the latest political developments between Albania and Greece regarding the Beleri case.
The analyst described the candidacy of Fredi Beleri for the municipality of Himara from Berisha and Meta as a very big and innocent historical mistake.
"The decision by DP is a very big historical mistake and unforgivable for Berisha and Meta who support a man with a past of articulation and suspected anti-Albanian acts, but on the other hand the vote for Beler, who clearly has had a support from powerful circles in Athens, it was a vote of protest by the residents of Himara on the property issue that was handled very badly by the government. There is great anger about the illegal influence of certain segments of big business at the expense of the citizens of Himara in relation to the property issue. This has been handled badly by all governments. But this does not mean that the opposition, for the sake of the property issue that they themselves have not resolved,, Kulluri emphasized.
Further, Kulluri added that the Greeks cannot in any case use the threat of a veto towards the European journey. He also emphasized that the opposition cannot embrace the positions of Athens to anger Edi Rama.
"I think that the Albanian leaders of the opposition cannot embrace this kind of attitude because of Edi Rama's anger. So our internal war does not have to be transposed in the international arena, and even more so in a neighboring country. There is no good intention here with Fredi Beleri and Athina does not have a good intention when she talks about the Greek minority in Himara. In Himara there is a linguistic minority, not a Greek minority. And for this reason, I think that Rama has behaved today that has left an open door to talk with Athens, he has done well because we have intertwined destinies, even at the level of the EU. Rama should keep in mind that the Greek veto in the EU is not a joke, but the Greeks cannot abuse the veto in every case because this is the wrong case.
