Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has started playing Athens' game. Although the relations between the two countries have cooled considerably and the first diplomatic incident was marked a day ago, after Rama was not invited to Athens, Albanian politics is still not unified.
Athens demands that Fredi Beleri be released from the cell, regardless of the fact that laws, courts and prosecutors operate in our country. But the scandal is that the former prime minister Berisha came out in support of them, who in fact made a fool of Beleri. He ran in Himare and today he has resigned on the side of Athens.
A democrat has commented on social networks where he says that Rama is right about Beleri, but Berisha has responded with a long reaction, justifying the positions of the Greek government, as if he were its spokesperson.
" To my knowledge, the Greek government has not requested the release of Beler, although for me he is a political prisoner. She requested the application of Albanian laws in his case and his permission to take the oath in accordance with these laws and the precedent. I think that every citizen who will be free should stay on the side of the law and the rule of law and no one else ", writes Berisha.

Good day Ervelino, I read your reaction to my article about the boycott of the meeting in Athens by the President of the Republic, in which you say: "Sali Berisha, how many times have I come out against Rama, but for Beler I give him the right, he was buying votes, he violated the law."
Regarding what you write, I think that:
First, the Beleri case is just one of the countless testimonies of the violation of the election process by Edi Rama and his efforts to steal the mandate for the Municipality of Himara at any cost. Rama and no one else has been able to present any evidence for the arrest in flagrante delicto that Beleri was buying votes. They only have a false witness prepared by Ardi Veliu, so you and no one who is for free elections should agree with the robbery of mandates by Edi Rama, who in the electoral farce of May 14, 2023 with money, gangs, he robbed his electoral state from Tropoja to Konispol with dozens of mandates.
Secondly, I am taking literally the claim that Beleri was arrested for buying votes. But I remind you that according to the laws of this country, Beleri, who has not been convicted by justice for the act he is being accused of, can never be prevented from taking the oath as the elected Mayor of Himara Municipality, as they took the mandate and took the oath years ago when the law was respected, MPs detained, but not convicted by court decision. Thus, any obstacle to Beler's oath is political and only political.
Së treti, qeveria greke në dijeninë time nuk ka kërkuar lirimin e Belerit, ndonëse për mua ai është i burgosur politik. Ajo ka kërkuar zbatimin në rastin e tij, të ligjeve shqiptare dhe lejimin e tij në përputhje me këto ligje dhe me precedentin për të bërë betimin. Mendoj se çdo qytetar që do të jetë i lirë duhet të qendrojë në anën e ligjit dhe shtetit ligjor dhe të askërkujt tjetër.
Së fundi, bojkoti nga Presidenti i Republikës i një takimi rajonal në Athinë me simbolikë të madhe, 20 vjetorin e deklaratës të Selanikut, deklaratë në të cilën liderët e BE u zotuan për perspektivën europiane të vendeve të rajonit tonë nuk ishte absolutisht interesi i asnjë shqiptari që konsideron integrimin e vendit në BE si të ardhmen e tij më të mirë. Ai është vetëm interesi i Edi Ramës dhe organizatës mafioze kriminale që ai drejton.
Edi Rama me vendosmërinë e tij për t’i marrë me çdo kusht Belerit, pa asnjë vendim gjykate, mandatin, dëshmon i nderuar Evelino, se ai për interesa strikt mafioze për trojet dhe tokat në Himarë është i gatshëm të dhunojë ligjet, kushtetutën e vendit. Ky akt dëshmon se ai është i gatshëm për interesat e tij dhe klaneve të tij mafioze të sakrifikojë interesat tona europiane.
Greqia është një vend fqinj, i cili pavarësisht nga problematikat që kanë ekzistuar midis dy vendeve ka mbështetur Shqipërinë dhe shqiptarët këto 30 vite në rrugën e demokracisë dhe integrimit europian dhe euroatlantik. Ajo është dheu ku mbi 1 milion shqiptarë emigruan më shumë se në çdo vend tjetër për një jetë më të mirë, për vete dhe familjet e tyre dhe që kontribuan dhe kontribuojnë edhe në ekonominë e Shqipërisë.
In conclusion, I hope you will never again support the illegal acts of Edi Rama, for whom the supreme interests are his interests and the mafia clans he represents.
