The Secretary for Public Relations in the Democratic Party, Edvin Kulluri, has stated that there will be no cooperation of this political force with Sali Berisha.
In an interview for "Newsline" on ABC News, Kulluri said that Berisha is a person "non grata" and that he has the doors closed in the Democratic Party.
He further added that the only way to unite the PD is to leave Berisha and sit down at the table to discuss the terms of the union. Otherwise, he added, nothing will happen.
" There is no union between the Democratic Party and the opposition with Sali Berisha. For us, Berisha is not the leader of the opposition. How long, the cause of separation has not fallen, there is no union. Mr. Berisha is not part of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party. At the moment that Mr. Berisha withdraws as the pretended chairman of the Democratic Party and from the protagonism to be the chairman of the opposition, the Democratic Party is ready to come out on a front in the next elections. Mr. Berisha does not have the door open, it is closed, as a deputy and as the leader of the opposition. You cannot withdraw from "non grata", the cause of this situation is "non grata".
We have not withdrawn from the December 18 Assembly. We need a winning alternative, we are late in the political rotation. That opposition model didn't work and that's what happened. Mr. Salianji has tried to make a positive contribution, but in politics there are things that are discussed and things that are not discussed. Mr. Berisha should not play a leading role, there will be no cooperation. The need for an opposition union will create the conditions for the other side to reflect to cooperate, if they want the opposition to come to power ", he emphasized.
