"Berisha cannot overthrow Rama", Shehi: He holds protests with
Chairman of the Movement for National Development (LZHK), Dashamir Shehi

The chairman of the Movement for National Development (LZHK), Dashamir Shehi, has expressed his conviction that the leader of the Democrat Party, Sali Berisha, cannot overthrow Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Shehi made the comments on the show 'Today Live in Albania', where he said that the protests organized by the Democratic Party are carried out with militants, to show who controls the opposition.

Shehi said that despite being present at every opposition protest, these rallies have not inspired ordinary people to take to the streets.

Further, Shehi added that he hoped more in new political parties than in the Democratic Party, as according to him, they bring new hope for Albania.

"Protests are a weapon of democracy and opposition. I don't see anything wrong with this. But is protest enough now? Are the numbers of these protests sufficient? If protests are held to show who controls the opposition people more, who has more organizational power, this is of no great use. So far it has been like this, because here until now the militants have been protesting. Citizens should be protesting.

To build the city of Tirana, there is no need for buses from Saranda and Burreli. If 10% of the city of Tirana were to protest, I am sure that Rama would put on his sneakers and run away. Citizens must be invited and inspired to protest. As a principle, we support not only Berisha's protests, but also those of these other groups. And to be honest, we have more hope in these others. In the new groups. Because they constitute an alternative, they constitute a change. Because this is what the last elections showed.

Despite this law that was designed to eliminate new political groups and leave two of their own people in power, Rama and Berisha, a part of the population broke through this siege and voted for the new parties. That's why I say that I prefer the protests of these others more. Not that we haven't been to the protests of the DP, but we don't agree with the same line, the same politics, the same people and the same words, on whom there are very serious doubts about a collaboration like they did before the elections regarding the electoral code.

That is why we will support the protests, because this is a regime that controls the entire Albanian political space. The day has come for this regime to collapse, not simply for the good of the opposition and for some others to come to power, but for the good of Albania. Why will our Albania continue like this? The day has come for Edi Rama and his political entourage to shorten their days. But I do not think that Edi Rama will fall with Berisha. And that is why I propose that we have a new political trajectory.

Let's destroy the Rama-Berisha Constitution of 2008, because it was the suicide of the new democracy of the Albanians. It produced that almost monarchical regime within Albania. Let's break this electoral law that is servile to the president. Here, Rama makes decisions from one side, Berisha makes them from the other side for the opposition.

The opposition must support justice, because this is the most dynamic factor. Even more positive for the opposition and the morale of Albanian society. Evil is being punished. At least they should pay a part, so that they are afraid. They should know that there are no more untouchables in Albania. Therefore, the opposition must support justice and establish connections with the international factor", said Shehi, among other things.
