DP Chairman Sali Berisha said today that Prime Minister Edi Rama failed to bargain with Erion Veliaj over his dismissal, who today appealed to the Constitutional Court.
Further, Berisha said that the opposition has several candidates for Tirana.
"Edi Rama after putting Gjushi in a cell. After making some kind of effort to get Veliaj to accept the dismissal and not to appeal to the Constitutional Court. It seems that he failed. It seems that Veliaj did not accept.
"Today is Monday, wait from 1 o'clock, Rama's puppet in the Presidency will sign the election date. Now I guarantee that the opposition, today at this moment we are talking, has not one, but several candidates incomparable to the raven of corruption," said Berisha.
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court has cast the lot for the review of the request related to the decision of the Tirana Municipal Council to dismiss the Mayor, Erion Veliaj.
Judge Sonila Bejtja has been appointed rapporteur for the case.
This development comes after this Monday, after the former mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, launched a legal battle to challenge the decision to dismiss him from office, by filing an appeal with the Constitutional Court.
