At the protest organized by the opposition in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, gave a long speech in which he described the situation in the country as one of the nation's most critical moments in its history.
He accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of violating the Constitution, extorting public assets, and autocratic behavior towards institutions.
" The greatest respect to you men, women, boys and girls who rose today like a hurricane of hope and faith. You are the salvation of Albania and Albanians ," - declared Berisha to the citizens gathered on the "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard.
He stressed that in the last ten years, Albanians have decreased more than from any other disaster, citing emigration, the decline in the birth rate, and the massive departure of youth.
" Albanians have lost over half of their youth. They have lost their future and every year they become less and less blessed in this ," Berisha said.
The leader of the DP accused Rama of a total seizure of power, placing himself above the law and the Constitution.
"Edi Rama, after turning the elections into an electoral farce, has decided to become a multibillionaire with your public money and assets. And not only that, but he comes out of the blue and tells you that he multiplies you by zero," said Berisha.
There was also a direct message to Rama: "Cast your eyes on this boulevard. From tonight, you will never again be known as prime minister, but as a gang leader ."
