Former Democratic Party presidential candidate Fatbardh Kadilli has commented on the May 11 elections and the current situation within the DP.
Kadilli criticized the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, who said that the loss cannot be justified by electoral irregularities.
He also stated that the return of Sali Berisha has damaged the future of the DP, while describing the political relationship between Rama and Berisha as a "tango" that keeps a regime afloat.
"I didn't think that the SP would exceed 80 mandates. The system penalized small parties and they made electoral mistakes. The election result was not a surprise. There are many elections where the same race is repeated. There are five elections, where the same situation is. As long as elections are managed by political people, problems will be present. Elections should not be managed by party people. Political people protect their jobs. There are irregularities, but this does not justify the loss of the DP. Irregularities cannot be an excuse for the catastrophic loss of the Democratic Party.
"Responsibilities are according to the hierarchy, the entire DP leadership team must be held accountable. We have said many times that a winning team cannot be built with Sali Berisha at the head. We have told the truth, while these people are warming the MP's chair. I have declared political war on the Berisha and Basha model. They are in a worse moral state than the Party of Labor. Berisha's return killed the future of the DP. In the DP, people insulted each other and now they are together, I don't know how sincere this union is. Berisha knows the truth, but he likes power. The regime is actually a tango between Berisha and Rama," he told "News 24".
