Democratic leader Sali Berisha announced today that the opposition led by the Democratic Party will not boycott the race for the Municipality of Tirana.
Following the Government's decision to dismiss Erion Veliaj from the position of Mayor and declare a vacancy, the President of the Republic is expected to set the election date.
While the Socialists have mandated Ogerta Manastirliu as a candidate, the DP and its allies have not yet designated a name.
But at today's media conference, Berisha said that the opposition will not boycott the process.
"I have my own prediction, farces are farces and are not elections.
I answered this question yesterday.
I said that we don't boycott, that there are two philosophies.
"But I said and I say, farces are farces and are not elections," Berisha said.
