Socialist Party MP Blerina Gjylameti has been elected Deputy President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Gjylameti was elected during today's meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Gjylameti is also the head of the Albanian delegation.
"Appreciated for the trust of fellow MPs in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in my unanimous election as Deputy President of the Assembly!
This important post is another confirmation of the trust and appreciation that Albania enjoys today in the international arena to contribute to the consolidation of democracy, human rights and the rule of law!
By accepting this high task in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where the national delegations of the 46 member countries of our continent sit, together with the delegation of Albania we will continue our commitments to strengthen democratic values as well as to advance the agenda of Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe", says MP Gjylameti after being elected Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Gjylameti is expected to play an important role in further promoting the principles and values of the Council of Europe.
