Democratic MP Jorida Tabaku says that despite the differences between the majority and the opposition in the country, the integration process should not be stopped. According to her, the best example for this is the resolution between the majority and the opposition approved the day before in the Stabilization and Association Council by the European Union.
"If the colleagues speak in Tirana as they spoke in Brussels, I think that we would have resolved things earlier. Albania is at an important crossroads, we expect in the coming weeks to open the two chapters of the negotiations that everyone already knows are blocked for a bilateral issue with Greece and the joint resolution, our goal was to give a message that despite the disagreement we have, the problems Albania is going through, the integration process should not stop", said Tabaku.
According to Tabak, the most important issues of the resolution are comprehensive electoral reforms, parliamentary life and monitoring of justice institutions.
"There it was reflected in the joint recommendations, it is not normal when we discuss about Albania's journey in the integration process, we do not always have such discussions. Once the fiscal amnesty law comes out, then the golden passports, now the working group of independent justice bodies comes out. This is a usurpation of the functions of both the integration commission and the laws commission. Initiative that does not go with the spirit of the association stabilization agreement", said the democrat Tabaku in an interview for Top Channel.
The new resolution agreed in the European Parliament calls on the Albanian MPs to restore normality in the Assembly and demands that the electoral reform be comprehensive.
