Dashamir Shehi

The leader of the Movement for National Development (LZHK), Dashamir Shehi, has stated that the Democratic Party's boycott of territorial reform would be a political mistake that directly serves the majority.

Shehi warned that the opposition's removal from institutional processes repeats the failed scenarios of 2015 and 2019.

According to him, territorial reform should be undertaken to serve citizens and not the electoral interests of political parties. Shehi brought to attention the consequences of the 2015 reform, emphasizing that promises to reduce spending and increase efficiency were not realized.

"It was claimed that 80 million euros would be saved, but in fact expenses increased by about 140 million. It was said that the administration would be reduced, but this did not happen. The reform was used politically and from an electoral point of view, " Shehi said on the "Studio Live" show.

Shehi: Will this work continue like this? Every time a long-term reform is made, they will leave for reasons and momentary conjunctures? Who is preventing them from being on the committee, but also from protesting. Why is the parliament used every time the situation needs to be tense? For once, offer your alternative or idea! Protect the interests of the citizens because in the end, in these 15 years, did Rama lose anything because the opposition withdrew from the reform? He did the reform as he pleased. Second, did he lose anything because the opposition withdrew from the elections? Rama won the elections with those votes of the mayors. Whoever makes this mistake has no desire for the opposition to come to power. Apparently, this kind of symbiosis between the ruling party and the opposition was liked by both parties. Who is preventing them from being on the committee and from protesting on the boulevard? I hope that logic and political reason prevail.

I don't think the situation is resolved with protests, otherwise it would be very beautiful. We protested in 2019 and in 2021 when the parliament was abandoned, this was also a fatal mistake, so we have held much bigger protests than these and nothing happened. I don't see any hope, although it is right to protest. There are attempts to unite, but what is coming to us is to unite around Berisha. This work is no longer worth it. I believe that the character is no longer valid to lead the opposition. Another formula must be found, another path, another political trajectory.

The one who defends his ideas, takes the initiative, turns his back on the absolutism of the DP where only one person is heard, I call it positive. I appreciate that there are young people, people with courage. Salianji was a hero until yesterday, while today they accuse him of all kinds of things and even call him self-excluded from the DP. Today he is doing something that is valuable for internal democracy in the DP and democracy in general.
