Among the strong debates, the report of Denar Biba on the annual activity of the Competition Authority for the year 2023 was developed, who spoke after midnight in the marathon session of the Assembly which lasted 17 hours.
Allowing the concentration of services in the hands of a few companies, according to the MPs of the opposition and the majority, is creating spaces for abuse to the detriment of citizens' interests. Immediately after the presentation of the report by Denar Biba, socialist MP Erion Braçe in high tones asked for proof of where this institution is based, which has stopped monitoring the companies of the chemical fertilizer market.
According to the deputy, these companies do not expect a tax coupon, and they abuse the prices, even though the price of dapat, nitrate and urea has fallen in foreign markets.
"An authority that approves most requests for concentrations, this is impressive. You have closed the monitoring of the chemical fertilizer market after one year. I am surprised that you confirm that in this market there are only two companies out of 3. This time you confirmed that the prices of these products are different.
How did you try it, since they operate all over the country and do not expect a tax coupon. If you come out today and show me a farmer who received a tax coupon to certify the price of a bag of dap, urea or nitrate, I will accept what you wrote.

Meanwhile, DP MP Jorida Tabaku addressed the head of the Denar Biba Authority, with the question of whether there is a monitoring or investigation of the mobile phone market.
Biba answered this question by saying that abuses can be done in the markets, but they do not have the staff and means of transport to investigate all sectors.
Braçe responded harshly and ironically to this attitude of the Competition authority, saying that the institution is not 'catching' the cartels because it does not have an expensive and fast car.
"Where did you put it in the resolution that the authority has no offices, that it has no cars?" How is it possible that all those cars that you seize, the work of the authority is left undone and not made available.

Dissatisfied with the work of the Competition Authority over the past year, Braçe went even further, saying that it is too much for Biba and the board of directors to remain in these positions.
