The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, organized an official reception this evening on the occasion of November 28, Independence Day, where he emphasized the progress made by Albania, but also the responsibilities that remain ahead.
In his speech, Begaj called on citizens and institutions to continue working to build a more European and courageous country, forever honoring national symbols.
" Albania has come a long way, but there is still much to do. Let us work hard, let us build a country that we can be proud of. Our task is to take the legacy to another level. Our task is to make this country more European and more courageous. Let us celebrate Flag Day for life. Let us honor the Red and Black Flag for life. Glory for life to the Albanian Nation ," said President Begaj.
The head of state said that after more than a century as an independent state, Albania has today created a serious image in the international arena and has become a reliable partner of regional powers as well as major world powers.
President Begaj paid special attention to the Albanian diaspora, which he said is a powerful bridge with the world.
" It is our heart that beats far away, our duty as a state is to listen to them, to include them and to create real spaces for participation. Independence is measured by the quality of public services, by functional justice, by the opportunities we offer to young people and by love for the homeland."
These are the challenges that unite us regardless of our political beliefs. Today's world is changing rapidly, the global architecture is being reshaped. In these times of transformation and upheaval, we need clear determination and vision. The year 2025 found us in a dynamic environment. Today's challenge is embodied under the motto of this summit, New Europe, New World. Albania has gained credibility as a country that contributes to peace and security and dialogue. Albania remains reliable for our Euro-Atlantic allies.
We are proud of the connection with the United States of America. Our destinies were divided against our will, today the fate of Albania and Kosovo and all Albanians in the region is in our hands. Every achievement of Kosovo and the Albanian communities in the region is a source of pride for us. Today, wherever Albanians live, it is a day of celebration. It is time to be together, to support the development of Albanian communities and to work so that every Albanian inside and outside the country feels part of a nation that is moving forward ," said Begaj.
