Why a 'meeting without cameras' worried the DP leadership and

The first concern is that that meeting or gathering took place without the knowledge of the leadership. So 15 people gathered without the knowledge of Berisha and his appointees, discussing, even formally, ideas that they are unable to articulate within the structures...

A meeting organized without the presence of the media has created a stir in the DP dome. The organizer of the meeting is Ervin Salianji, a member of the DP Presidency, who was joined by Ilir Alimehmeti, the second most voted on the open list of Democratic candidates in the Tirana district, as well as 13 other characters with local influence in the Democratic structures.

Sali Berisha described the meeting as a 'coffee' that is not worth commenting on, while not forgetting to say that the media attention for this serves to cover the Government's super scandals. So in short, Berisha said that those who are giving voice to such a meeting, and in this case it is not for the media, but for those who speak in the media and were part of that meeting, are serving Edi Rama. That is enough for anyone who knows the way the DP functions, to understand how they should be treated.

"Normally, coffee meetings do not deserve comments, but the DP is the most open and democratic party in this country for any kind of opinion, idea, and that's all I can say. The internal analysis process has begun, all instructions have been made. This does not constitute any news or innovation, the media is simply using this to cover Rama's super scandals," Berisha said.

A more or less similar stance was also held by Gazment Bardhi, the head of the DP Parliamentary Group, who was among the first from the party leadership to try to cover up everything.

Despite the fact that three of the protagonists of this meeting, Salianji, Aulon Kalaja and Alimehmeti, gave their arguments, it seems that the instruction emanating from Berisha is that it should not be given importance. And after the message, a look at social networks is enough to see the reactions and to understand that a meeting in a cafe is considered a meeting in the backstage that cannot serve the DP and its reorganization.

In fact, both Berisha and Bardhi and everyone else in the DP leadership, especially those who on May 11th identified themselves as losers and responsible for the catastrophic election result, know that a meeting in a café does not jeopardize their positions in the party structures.

First, neither Salianji nor Alimehmeti are aiming for Sali Berisha's position, and under the current conditions, even if they had it in mind, they would not enter a race with a direct rival, the democratic leader.

Also, Bardhi's position as Chairman of the Parliamentary Group is not determined from the outside, but is decided by the MPs with Berisha's blessing. The same thing happens with other positions in the DP, including that of Flamur Noka as Secretary General, despite the blunders, arrogance or the place he shows to any member of the DP, whom he can suspend or expel if he doesn't like what he says. This is confirmed by at least one of them, Dr. Ilir Alimehmeti, a name that was discovered as a novelty in the ranks of the Democrats in the 2023 primaries for the Municipality of Tirana, and two years later, resulted in the second most voted in the capital, as part of the open list, but without being able to obtain a mandate as an MP.

And based on this, the question arises: what is worrying the DP leadership?

The first concern is that that meeting or gathering took place without the knowledge of the leadership. So 15 people gathered without the knowledge of Berisha and his appointees, discussing even formally ideas that they are unable to articulate within the structures. Most of those who were at the meeting, with the exception of Salianj who is a member of the Presidency, were not called to any meeting by Berisha, Noka or Bardhi.

And perhaps the second concern is that none of the leadership has managed to learn in detail what was said, who spoke for whom, and what those who gathered may have had in mind, beyond what they publicly claim. So in popular parlance, the dome is not left alone by the "worm", even though from Thursday evening to Friday afternoon, participants in that meeting have tried to clarify their reasons and ideas.

Most of those who chose to gather in a bar and cry their troubles may be members of the National Council, the highest governing forum of the DP, but which does not meet and has become a non-existent structure, perhaps also due to the fact that many of the members may express their revolt over the loss of May 11.

They decided to meet at a bar, without thinking that this would be commented on as something that could discredit the dome, upset it, or that such a meeting would be interpreted as an "attempt to cover up government scandals."

Imagine for a moment how these 15 could be called and labeled, if they were to try to arrange a meeting at the DP headquarters, in the room where the Presidency or the Parliamentary Group meets, without informing Berisha and his appointees in the dome? /Pamphlet/
