After more than 1 hour and 30 minutes, the meeting of the Council of Mandates has normally started the discussions regarding the request of SPAK for the arrest of Arben Ahmetaj.
The meeting started around 4:00 p.m., but at its start there were many clashes between the majority and the opposition. SPAK requested that the meeting be held behind closed doors and SP supported it. But the opposition came out against it and this led to debates between Gazmet Bardhi, Ervin Salinaji and Ermonela Felaj.

" Your name is on this file. You are afraid because your name is on the file. Let people understand that you, like Ahmetaj, were in favor of building incinerators. You are in a conflict of interest! ", said Bardhi in the ongoing debate.
" The majority is afraid that the Albanians will learn the truth about the incinerators ", he said, adding that the majority is helping Ahmetaj to leave.
The meeting was interrupted and then resumed. It was the head of SPAK himself who initiated the submission of the request. He argued that SPAK has evidence that Ahmetaj is involved in wealth concealment, corruption and money laundering and therefore his arrest has been requested.
Meanwhile, the head of SPAK was asked by deputy Bardhi if they have information about Ahmetaj's current whereabouts. Dumani said that there is no data. Bardhi raised suspicions that he fled to Canada.
The meeting is continuing with the submission of the request by SPAK, while Ahmetaj's lawyers are expected to request that the meeting be postponed until tomorrow, as earlier they asked for time to prepare the defense.
