The Health Commission has approved in principle the law that blocks diplomas for medical students.
The majority introduced it with an accelerated procedure and despite the debates between the deputies, the majority decided not to waste time.
The vice president of the Freedom Party, Petrit Vasili, Albana Vokshi, as well as the deputy of the DP, Ilda Dhori, strongly reacted against this decision.
" The heart of the problem is the payment, leave the fairy tales. People have taken to the streets because they want Kosovo's wages ," said Vasili.
The Minister of Education Evis Kushi and Deputy Minister Mira Rakacolli were also part of the commission. Khushi said that the draft law aims to prevent the departure of doctors but also to meet the needs in health.
" We do not force students. So students are not placed before an obligation. Students are free to choose whether to benefit from the facilities or not... The law does not violate the essence of this constitutional right. Given that every student has the right to choose whether he wants to benefit from the facilities that are created by signing the agreement, or if he does not agree to sign this agreement ", said Minister Kushi.
The opposition asked the minister to reduce the obligation for employment from 5 years to 3 or not to put it to the vote. However, none of these requests were accepted, approving the draft in principle.
