An opposition that expects Delta Force does the greatest service to Edi Rama...
The cyber explosion of excitement from Sali Berisha's opposition with AI-generated memes imagining a Delta Force landing in Surrel to capture Edi Rama is much more than comedy. It is a symptom of an opposition that has lost its sense of political reality.
Yes, Edi Rama must be overthrown. He is worn out, caught up in affairs, politically isolated and increasingly relying on a clientelistic system of fear. His overthrow is a democratic necessity. But this is not the way.
This is not opposition. This is a collective fantasy of people seeking salvation from without because they are no longer able to build strength from within. An opposition that sits locked away in expensive phones, on the couches of luxury clubs, with cigars in hand and glasses of alcohol accompanied by Red Bull, producing memes as if politics were a video game.
While they dance to folk songs about Sali Berisha and post American helicopters on Instagram, they forget the basic fact: no government is overthrown by memes, no regime falls by ridicule.
The Venezuelan opposition, since 1999, has faced a real military regime, with violence, with paramilitaries, with direct support from Russia, China, Cuba and Iran. It has paid a real price. There have been political prisoners, dissidents and leaders in exile. And only after building a popular base and political legitimacy, has it sought international support.
While the Albanian opposition is demanding a free landing from Donald Trump, after he has attacked the US for years, insulted Western partners, and continues to defend a leader declared Non Grata. This is not a strategy. It is self-abasement.
The Americans do not overthrow leaders for the pleasure of failed oppositions. They intervene only when they face a real strategic danger. Edi Rama has not been overthrown because, in front of him, there is no serious alternative.
Rama will only fall from real politics, from a credible opposition, with leaders without corruption, without old burdens, and without the need for "Gucci" suits and expensive perfumes that mask the political void.
This Delta Force farce does not weaken Rama. On the contrary, it helps him. It gives him the alibi of the victim, strengthens his narrative of stability, and saves him from real confrontation.
When Marco Rubio says that no one makes fun of this president, he's not just talking about Edi Rama. He's talking about those who think that politics is done with Photoshop and overthrowing power with GIFs.
Yes, Edi Rama must be overthrown.
But not from the couch.
Not from Instagram.
Not waiting for helicopters in Surrel.
He can only be overthrown by politics. And for this, the opposition must start with itself./ Pamphlet
