Evi Kokalari, an Albanian-American activist who supported Sali Berisha during her speeches at the Re-establishment of the Democratic Party, was not allowed to run for the party's leadership in the May 23 elections. Kokalari was not accepted as a candidate on the grounds that she is not a member of the Democratic Party, and under such conditions, she cannot run for party leadership.
But in a reaction on social media, Kokalari calls on all re-establishers, democrats, and all Albanians who want radical changes in Albania to massively sabotage Sali Berisha.
"We live in 2026 and this is pure communism. Within a few days I will complete the appropriate documentation to be submitted to SPAK for: Sali Berisha, Shkelzen Berisha, Argita Berisha and Albana Vokshi, for passive and direct party corruption, which is the basis for taking hostage the party, which in essence should have been anti-communist."
"I will be at the full disposal of SPAK to confirm their actions, for which I myself was an eyewitness to the events. I told you, this is a war and you will not win it," Kokalari writes.
