The head of the "Albania Becomes Initiative", Adriatik Lapaj, has today denounced the threat made against this coalition's candidate for the May 11 elections in the Durrës district, Valbona Myhedi.
According to Lapaj, the person he posted a video of on his personal Facebook account is the suspect in the act. He says that the person in question "threatened him and pointed the gun at him."
Lapaj adds that the American Embassy in Tirana will also be notified and requested the Police's reaction. So far, the Durrës Police have not given any official reaction to such a reported event.
But sources at the Durrës Local Police Directorate said that no complaint has been filed in the region regarding the situation of candidate Valbona Myhedin. The case is being pursued proactively, taking testimony from the people involved, to discover more.
" A few minutes ago, members of organized crime in Durrës threatened our candidate Valbona Myhedin and the activists accompanying her with weapons, while she was holding meetings with citizens in neighborhood no. 8, near the "Eftali Koçi" school. Valbona Myhedin, an American citizen, has faced a cowardly act of intimidation that will not go unnoticed ," Lapaj said.
He further requests the reaction of the blue uniforms, but there is no official information about a complaint at the Police Station.
"We call on the State Police to act immediately, while we will inform the American Embassy. The one who pointed the gun at the two women will be held accountable before the law! Our journey does not stop! May 11 is near!" , Lapaj further stated, saying that the person in the video is the suspected perpetrator.
