SPAK prosecutors make a fuss, while OSCE/ODIHR and US Embassy warn of the failure of democracy
Vote-rigging has broken out openly everywhere in Albania. Mafiosi are fighting among themselves to see who can manipulate the will of Albanians the most. Mafia-linked media outlets make a fuss when a vote-rigger is confronted with physical violence, or when the police try to stop the manipulation in broad daylight in the middle of the city.
Meanwhile, SPAK prosecutors are "on the ground", but no one knows what they are doing. They continue to believe in the cunning of the four mafia clans, hoping that the OSCE/ODIHR, the permanent guardian of the electoral process, will delay the control of the cameras as usual, and thus the next elections will proceed and the problems will be forgotten.
Prime Minister Edi Rama is pleased that the US ambassador's seat remains empty, while the "rooster crowing" of the Elbasan street will not wake up Albanians on the morning of May 12. He is calmly continuing his dream.
But how long has this dream lasted? In reality, it has lasted 34 years.
In this dream of system change, night still seems sufficient to hide the Rama-Berisha games, although there is hope that one day a ray of light will penetrate the darkness of the offices and lead them both to prison.
Foreign services, those who hold hands in every secret conflict, have begun to move, deafening the silence and clearing the fog, before the OSCE/ODIHR publishes yet another report that will be a caricature of democracy.
Small fish have died from time to time, but corruption and vote manipulation have evolved like a resistant bacterium in the laboratories of Albanian politics. Although many are struggling to return Ilir Meta from prison to Parliament, this now seems impossible.
This time, the American Embassy has raised the yellow flag as a warning, clearly announcing that the elections are under maximum surveillance.
This is the last time for the corrupt and manipulators who became millionaires from nothing: the time has come for them to answer to justice.
