The President of the Council of Europe, Antonio Costa, has delivered a message on the occasion of Europe Day, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and unity among European countries.
Through a public response, Costa stated that this day symbolizes the common European project and the achievements that can be achieved through cooperation.
"Europe Day is your day. Today we celebrate our common European project and what we can achieve when we work together. United in diversity, we continue to build our common future of peace, freedom and opportunity ," writes Antonio Costa.

On 23 July 1952, the Montanunion came into force in Europe. The European Coal and Steel Community was the nucleus of the European Economic Community, which was established in 1957 with the Treaties of Rome. The European Economic Community gave rise to the European Union in the early 1990s. The Montanunion, which included France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, was proposed by the then French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman.
