The co-founder of "Djathtas", Rezart Kthupi, says that this political entity has distanced itself from the chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, but Lulzim Basha has not yet done the same.
In an interview for "Tirana Live" on ABC News, Kthupi said that Basha is on the same journey with the Democratic Party, as he is still a member of the Parliamentary Group of this political force. Kthupi added that the "Right" grouping will compete in the parliamentary elections with open lists.
" We have maintained a group, we have not chosen a leader. We leave the door open for anyone to contribute. We want to create a space, those who want to give their contribution and why not compete. Of course they will compete, with full rosters. But we have one condition, we will compete with open lists. In this form, we make a contribution at the end of the day. We have 4 entities that have the will and desire to go to elections with open lists. We have a common battle. Let's see if we have other points in common with the new formations. Do not make agreements with this majority to the detriment of the citizens. That subject has chosen the path of confrontation, protest, violence in parliament. Those who want a different opposition will run away from there and find themselves elsewhere. If DP will not offer an alternative, people will choose other political entities. We have started a journey that we started earlier, on September 9.
The real crisis of DP started in 2013. There is a problem, without wanting to analyze the actions of Mr. Basha. If you start with the presumption that you will form a new party, you must break away from the old party. We have closed the journey with PD, Basha has a common journey with PD. Mr. Basha is still a member of the DP Parliamentary Group. These things must be shared. We want political clarity. MPs have a certain weight, but it is not everything. It is too early to set real objectives ", he emphasized.
