Yesterday, the Primaries process for the election of the candidate who will represent the opposition in the partial elections in Kukës was closed.
Voting started at 08:00 and ended at 18:00.
The name Vata was announced as the winning candidate in the Primaries held for the elections in the municipality of Kukës. We remind you that the process was applied with the principle of one member, one vote, for the selection of the candidate who will represent Berisha in the elections of September 24, 2023.
The race within the Democrats took place between Arif Rexhmati, Ardian Elez, Emri Vata, Gëzim Shehu and Ylber Zeneli.
And who is Emri Vata to compete with September 24 for the pulpit?
Vata is also known as the leader of the operation that arrested Klement Balili for the first time in 2006.
He was arrested together with two police officers from the Saranda Police Station, during an attempt to traffic an amount of 750 kg of cannabis to Greece. At that time, the so-called "Escobar of the Balkans" served a few months in prison, to return to the target of justice again in 2016.
The former senior police chief, Emri Vata, in 2006 also led the operation where Balili was put in handcuffs.
