The Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, GJKKO, has postponed the court session against former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj for the "Buka sha" file to December 16, at 1:30 p.m.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj is one of six defendants in the case known as "Buka", where he is accused of abuse of office.
We recall that former Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj has been on the run since July 2023, due to investigations by SPAK, which issued an arrest warrant against Ahmetaj.
The decision of the GJKKO:
REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA/ SPECIAL COURT OF FIRST INSTANCE FOR CORRUPTION AND ORGANIZED CRIME
1. Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime dated
On 21.12.2023, he submitted a request to the Court with the subject: "Sending to court the
criminal case no. 154, year 2022, against the defendant Arben Ahmetaj, accused
for committing the criminal offense of "Abuse of office" provided for by Article 248 of the
Criminal Code”.
2. At the session of 25.07.2025 (preliminary session), the Special Court of First Instance
First for Corruption and Organized Crime with a panel composed of a judge
Erjon Çela, with decision no. 7/34/124, dated 25.07.2025, decided:
1. Acceptance of the request of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Crime
Organized.
2. Referral for trial of criminal proceedings no. 154, of 2022, of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, against the defendant:
– Arben Ahmetaj, accused of committing the criminal offense of “Abuse of office”
provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code.
3. The formation of the trial file is ordered, including the investigation acts.

4. The filing of the court decision to send the case to the court of
together with the trial file at the secretariat of the Special Court of Appeal
First Court for Corruption and Organized Crime, as the competent court for
the trial of the case on the merits, within ten days from its announcement.
5. No appeal is allowed against this decision.
