The officers of the National Bureau of Investigation have taken former deputy minister Klodian Rrepaj into custody, to ask him about the sterilization file.
Meanwhile, businessman Ilir Rrapaj will also be questioned.
Both of them were in custody, as they are being investigated for the medical sterilization concession.
For sterilization, Rjepaj and Rrapaj are under the measure of prison arrest, two other people are under the security measure of "House Arrest" and 4 others under the measure of "Compulsion to appear".
Yesterday, the former Minister of Health Ilir Beqaj was also asked about this issue.
Beqaj left SPAK after eight hours of questioning. The former Minister of Health announced in a statement to journalists that other long sessions will follow.
Likewise, the former minister said that he received confirmation from the prosecutors that the items seized on October 28 will be returned to him soon.
"Today we communicated with the prosecutors and they confirmed to me that I will have the items that were seized on October 28, but which are related to the continuation of the sterilization, two foreign travel documents that I received today and the second one after the electrical inspections of the equipment are completed to be returned to me. Today it was clarified that the gas and Annex 8 are related to sterilization and nothing else," he said.
Questioning the persons under investigation is the last action that the prosecution makes and decides on the communication of charges.
Businessman Ilir Rrapaj was arrested by order of SPAK under suspicion of fraud in the sterilization concession, as he had close acquaintance and friendship with the former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj and the former Deputy Minister Klodian Rjepaj.
"Sterilization" File
Referring to the file, the connection between former minister Ilir Beqaj and businessman Ilir Rrapaj, who won the concession for the sterilization of surgical sets, is confirmed.
According to SPAK, former deputy minister Klodian Rrepaj and the businessman completed their studies together with the Faculty of Medicine in 1991-1994.
Likewise, the director of the Sani Service concession company was their classmate. Their acquaintance has been confirmed by other relatives.
From the data in the TIMS system, it appears that Ilir Rrapaj, Ilir Beqja and Klodian Rjepaj entered Albania on 15.06.2014. This period coincides with the preparatory time of the concessionaire.
SPAK informs that they have also traveled together at other times. Specifically, Rjepaj, Rrapaj and Ombro Staccini left Albania from Rinas on April 13, 2016.
