"We want to be cleansed from the corrupt", Basha attacks Berisha again: His calls for unity, a 'trap' for personal interests

The former leader of the DP, Lulzim Basha, continued his attacks on the former Prime Minister Berisha during the meeting he held today with the youth in the city of Elbasani.

During his speech, Basha "stung" Berisha, saying that his position in the DP brought irreparable costs to the opposition, both in terms of image and numbers in the Parliament.

The former leader of the Democratic Party went on to say that Berisha's calls for unification are a trap, since according to him, the democrats were separated by the false flag of Berisha who, for personal interests, made an alliance with evil.

Referring here to the fact that Berisha entered his candidates in the May 14 elections with the Freedom Party logo and brought another defeat for the opposition.

" The illusion that the best way to stay and come back after the PD went into opposition in 2013 was to preserve the compactness of the numbers at all costs. This almost automatically turned into a disease for me and my associates to turn a blind eye to the corruption of that individual for the sake of the real or perceived electoral value of an individual. This means that instead of getting rid of the people who caused us image and electoral costs with corruption, we kept them there and even continued to have them in leadership positions based on electoral calculations.

First of all, the Democrats did not split because they wanted to, they split under a false flag for personal interests, and the split is not principled in the sense that they did not leave for principle. We stood for the principle. Now those who started this false war reaped the result of this false war. Now that it was understood that the alliance with evil for the sake of numbers never gives birth to something good, now is the moment to understand that the union cannot come as something mechanical but around values. I believe that PD is the only hope for change in this country. We must have an alliance against corruption ", said Basha.
