Ilir Meta has ironized media statements that he helped the former Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Nikola Gruevski, to escape from the country. In 3D on RTSH, Meta joked that he slept one night in his villa at Gjiri i Lalëzi, while adding that he has constant communications with him and that he respects him.

" Is it true that Gruevski came to you? Yes, he came to my house, slept there after Monika made him breakfast, sent him away and left. He was sleeping one night in the villa at Gjiri i Lalëzi ", Meta joked

The President of PL said that Gruevski has followed very good policies of economic development and support of agriculture, which Meta himself had recommended to Edi Rama in 2013, but he had not listened to it. But he admitted that he has contacts with Gruevski, as he described him as the greatest politician in the Balkans.

" Rama has a mission, the depopulation of the country. In 2013, I told him that we should make a couple of areas in Durrës as Gruevski did in Macedonia, Skopje 1, Skopje 2 should be done in Durres. There was no plan to promote economic development in Albania. They are made in Albania for two months. When Gruevski took over, Macedonia was 94th in the world in terms of business and investment climate. In a short time it went 10th in the world and 5th in Europe after 4 countries in the north. Macedonia today exports 1 million lambs to the EU, a much smaller country than us. And we lambs and goats together have a little more than 1 million. Why because he supported the program in agriculture. 

Gruevski is the most successful politician in the Balkans in terms of economic development and the promotion of foreign investments. One thing that does not forgive Gruevski is that he has fled Macedonia and he knows it.
