Erdogan gathers security council for Rama, focusing on military industry
As the Albanian government is expanding strategic cooperation with Israel in the defense sector, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sent another signal to Edi Rama.
Within the framework of the NATO Summit, Rama held a meeting with the Turkish president today, a strategic move to smooth over differences.
Edi Rama has been flirting with Tel Aviv for some time. The visit to Israel was met with great anger by Ankara. However, the prime minister did not stop there. Recently, the National Flight School was inaugurated, established in partnership with the Israeli company Elbit Systems, while Prime Minister Rama announced the objective of establishing the National School of Special Forces. Cooperation between the two countries also extends to the field of military industry, weapons systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, cybersecurity and defense technology projects.
This led many Turkish media outlets to attack the prime minister, accusing him of selling Albania to Israel. Many Erdogan supporters also support the protests in Tirana against the government.

Caught between two fires, Rama went to Erdogan's office today, hoping to calm the relations.
Erdogan was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, National Intelligence Organization (MİT) head İbrahim Kalın, AK Party spokesman Ömer Çelik, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, and Security and Foreign Policy Advisor Akif Çağatay Kılıç.
According to the announcement, the focus was on defense. So, it seems that Erdogan has 'put his feet in a shoe' for Rama, who is giving territory to Israel.
" Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, received at the Presidential Complex the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, who is in Ankara for the NATO Leaders' Summit. During the meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and Albania, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed. Our President stated that we are working to further advance relations between Turkey and Albania and that we particularly wish to deepen our cooperation in the field of defense industry ," the statement said.
So, Rama seems to be trying to keep it both ways. On the one hand, he cooperates with Israel, on the other hand, he tries to keep it both ways with Erdogan. This is also due to the fear of protests, as evil mouths say that Ankara is strongly supporting them.
