Recep Tayyip Erdogan appears to have ordered the entry of political Islam into Albania and, in all likelihood, the new political party or organization could be registered soon.
In fact, the nest of this movement had been established and maintained in the territory for a long time. Now the fact has simply become public that an Albanian “Hezbollah” or “Muslim Brotherhood” intends to emerge as a new political actor in the country.
And for this, as usually happens in such movements, a local ideologue has been found to present as an inspiration to the masses. A figure who has long been prepared and supported, of course not the only one, to be used at the appropriate moment.
One of the media outlets funded by Erdogan, the very one that sends "professors" to studios to debate the Middle East, even though they are often completely out of touch with reality; has published what appears to be the sultan's coded "fatwa", but with the signature of Abdi Baleta.
"Even Islamophobes in Albania want to force Muslims to observe certain rituals, to say, to pray and pray as they please, but not to think that Islam also needs political protection and a social role, because these are the work of the European-Western Christian-Judaic civilization," says this carefully constructed ideological text.
The message is clear.
First, it is emphasized that Albanian Muslims should not only practice religion, but also represent it politically.
Secondly, and this is the most problematic part, there is an attempt to impose another geopolitical orientation on Albania, outside its natural Euro-Atlantic axis.
The late Abdi Baleta articulates this in a perfidious way by attacking what he calls "Judaic-Christian" civilization.
A typical cliché of political Islam, but not necessarily of the Eastern Muslim world in today's reality.
Because, in fact, modern Europe is the space that has guaranteed the most rights to Muslims, represented them politically, and integrated them institutionally. In fact, as can be seen in the Palestinian issue, Europe is often its greatest political and humanitarian supporter.
But the essence of political Islam according to the model of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is politically represented by Erdogan and financed by Qatar, is another matter.
The objective is not only the representation of Islam, but the political struggle against secularism and the Western orientation of the state, to then introduce religious dogmas as concrete political proposals.
This has been seen in many places: from debates about school dress, to the organization of public life, and to the geopolitical orientation of the state.
In Albania, such a party will most likely not have massive electoral success, because even practicing Muslim citizens have shown no inclination to align themselves with political Islamic formations.
But the main objective does not seem to be direct power.
The aim is to take the field as a political diversionary factor, to be used in the service of the regional interests of Erdogan's Turkey, which is becoming increasingly oriental and less democratic.
Such a formation will have no problem with funding, because the resources come from where these political projects are usually funded: Qatar.
Formations like the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Hezbollah in Lebanon, or Hamas in Gaza, according to their critics, only have a religious cover. They essentially function as political organizations with strong ideological and often confrontational objectives.
Neither of them sees liberal democracy as the ultimate model.
And if such a project lands in Albania, it is very likely that it will initially be wrapped in a secular name and program, just as Erdogan himself did in his political beginnings in Turkey.

Vendi ynë ka 35 vjet që vuan nga kthetrat e qeverive nga më të korruptuara në kontinent.Ps përjashtim çdo qeveri që ka ardhur në pushtet ka shqyer në mënyrën më brutale ëndërrat e shqiptarëve për një atdhe që ecën e përparon,ku mund të jetohet më mirë..
