Former President, Bamir Topi commented on recent developments in the Democratic Party, where Sali Berisha was reconfirmed as the head of the party, banning the candidacy of others.
Topi mocked Berisha and the fireworks that exploded in the headquarters, after the competition that Berisha held with himself.

I can't say that the DP had a standard democracy, but there was still a spirit that was considered an alternative way of thinking, because in decision-making, I don't believe there was anyone who could say that in the race with Berisha they could win.
It was built in such a way that he had absolute control over the structures and votes of the Democrats. But what remains in my mind is the moment when he resigned, a competition was held in abnormal conditions between the late Olldashi and Mr. Basha. Topi stated that Berisha's problem is no longer political but character-based.
"It's a complex situation. I don't know who will undertake to analyze it through a work that would be valid for the history of the political transition, to politically analyze the progress of the DP in 35 years and specifically the figure of Sali Berisha. I think that after so many years, the opportunity to politically analyze Sali Berisha has been exhausted. I think everything has been exhausted, there is nothing left unsaid. Today, we need to talk more about the character structure of Sali Berisha, because politically everything has been closed and exhausted, for me he is no longer a political figure, but an expression of a character that was born with him, had its own modifications when he was young and then when he entered the student movement he exhibited loving intentions for the people, but there were characters that came out from time to time and today are exposed in public.
The problem does not end here, it is not just an individual problem, as he can play with his mind, but also the relationship with others. We have a big defect as a society, it does not only apply to Berisha's relations with the electorate, the same thing happens on the other side.
