The deputy of the Socialist Party, Erion Braçe, has put forward the idea of ​​setting a ceiling price for apartment rents in Tirana, which have seen a significant increase in recent months.

Braçe said during an interview on "Report TV" that students are the class that is most affected by the increase in rent prices, as from next week they will be in the capital to start the new educational year.

He brought the example of Austria, a country that has set a price ceiling to curb the increase in rents, as he alluded that owners speculate on prices.

"We have students here next week, while rent prices are rising. Why are rental prices increasing? Did the water rise? No! Did the dirt grow? No. 

Let's deal with this, the most affected layer. Why have we introduced easements for real estate transactions while rental prices are rising? Austria set the ceiling price, why not", Braçe said.
