The clash in the Democratic Party continues, while today MP Gazment Bardhi has called a meeting with all opposition MPs. Bardhi continues to ignore the decisions of the National Assembly, while describing himself as the head of the parliamentary group, today he called a meeting with the deputies with the aim of unifying the opposition action.
According to him, the aim of this meeting is the unification of forces in the Parliament in the new parliamentary session. At the start of the plenary session, Bardhi declared that Albania needs a functional opposition.
Bardhi said that Basha is also invited to the meeting, in case he has ambitions to be the chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group.
"I have called to a meeting all the MPs of the Alliance for Change coalition of 2021. Basha is definitely invited among the 59 MPs who have this invitation. Let him come in case he also has the ambition to be the leader of the group", said Bardhi.
The meeting will be held at 12:00 at the Tirana Hotel, while the first part will be open to the media. Sali Berisha's group of deputies responded positively to Bardhi's call, and the former prime minister himself confirmed that he will be present. Also, the allies who left the PD-AN alliance list will also join the meeting. It is rumored that the deputies of the Freedom Party will also participate in the meeting.
Meanwhile, as expected, the meeting will be boycotted by Lulzim Basha's deputies. Basha has called a meeting with the College of Presidents at 11:00. This is the first meeting that Basha has with the College since he was re-elected as head of the Democratic Party.
