Following Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements against the High Judicial Council, the head of the Democratic Party parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted.
In a public reaction, Bardhi stressed that the prime minister is trying to distort the role of justice institutions and intimidate judges.
" Before distorting the role of the Supreme Court out of deep ignorance, Edi Rama would do well to understand its role: it is to fight gangs, not to reduce them to government; it is to economically destroy gangs, not to grant them licenses, tenders, concessions or construction permits; it is to fight corruption, not to legalize it through projects like incinerators that do not exist; it is to be judged by prosecutors and judges, not to judge them ," declared Bardhi.
He added that Rama is the only prime minister in Europe who not only comments, but also attacks specific judges and prosecutors on concrete issues. According to Bardhi, this stance constitutes an open danger to the independence of justice in Albania.
" Boll wasted his time on issues that he neither understands nor can understand, because Edi Rama has been cooked up as 'anti-law' and 'anti-public interest' ," emphasized the head of the DP group.
