PD MP Tomor Alizoti spoke about the protest that the opposition will organize on October 7. He said that Albanians should do what Berliners or Parisians do when they go out and protest, every time they think their rights are violated.
Alizoti said that the Assembly belongs to the citizens who, with their votes, take the deputies to the Parliament hall.
"Who gives them the right to expel the deputies for up to two months? We deal with aesthetics, when nothing works here. Here they have a problem with aesthetics, with banal things, at a time when we have an autocracy here. I am worried about how the Albanian nation will go, not these aesthetic things with quarrels in the Assembly, which we have seen in many countries" , said Alizoti for the show "This Week" on "New24".
Speaking about Ervin Salianji's 1-year prison sentence, Alizoti said that a democrat who has never managed power has been imprisoned, stressing that this does not happen in any country in Eastern Europe.
"We have the leader of the opposition who has been under arrest for 1 year, while another democrat who has never managed power is being punished. Why doesn't this happen in any other Eastern European country? Do you remember the song "I ate your heart" with which Edi Rama campaigned? Why is this what Albanians need? In a country where contract killers are on the streets, in a country where the head of the Municipality is accused of endless millions, in a country where PPP tenders are stolen, where the former Deputy Prime Minister talks about the exploits of this Prime Minister, a sentence is given unacceptable for an opposition guy who has never made a tender. The opposition must be radicalized in its positions, the opposition is being challenged and must challenge the Government", said Alizoti.
The democratic deputy said that he condemns the precedent in the case of the imprisonment of Ervin Salianji.
"PD has never chosen radicalization, it has spoken, but it has not been radical. Where does he get the courage to expel opposition MPs, how can 24 MPs be expelled, there are thousands of votes that these MPs represent", said the democratic MP.
He said that democracy lives by the people who go out on the streets, even the windows will be broken.
"Democracy is protected by these people who go out on the streets to defend their rights", said Alizoti.
According to the deputy, only in dictatorships do people not come out and demand their rights.
"Parliament is not functional. The opposition has its right to radicalization and the right to its expression. Many parliaments, including those of the Nordic countries, have clashes", said Alizoti.
