Albanian table tennis has lost one of its most important and respected figures, Shpëtim Gazhelin, a name that left an indelible mark on this sport for decades.
Awarded the title of "Master of Sports", Gazheli built an extraordinary career, being declared national champion 13 times, both in individual and team competitions. His dedication, talent and hard work placed him among the most successful Albanian table tennis athletes.
As a player and coach of the Partizan team, he also managed to win 5 Republic Cups and 2 National Spartakiads, proving his class and high sporting level.
During his long career, Gazheli was part of the Albanian national team, contributing not only as an athlete, but also as a coach and educator. He helped shape many new generations, transmitting to them not only the techniques of the game, but also the values of discipline, respect and dedication.
For the students and athletes who were lucky enough to work with him, Shpëtim Gazheli was more than a coach. He was a true professor of sport and life, a figure who inspired with his professionalism, character and humanity.
His legacy will remain alive in the history of Albanian table tennis and in the memories of all those who knew him.
