"We invited the opposition, but it fell on deaf ears"/ SP proposes
Ermonela Felaj

The Socialist Party has filed a request to change the law on Investigative Commissions.

This was announced today by the deputy of the Socialist Party, Ermonela Felaj. The latter told the media that a review of the law on investigative commissions has been requested.

According to her, this is a product of several months of work and aims to be aligned with the investigative commissions of the European Union.

“I wanted to share an announcement with you. On behalf of the SP, as a deputy of the SP, I submitted the initiative for some additions and changes to the law of investigative commissions. I want to say that the product that was formalized that was filed as a bill is the product of several months of work. Since the beginning of the day, the Assembly has spoken about the need for a review of the investigation commissions, by the opposition and the majority. The decisions of the Constitutional Court are not reflected in this law. The conclusion of the work for investigative commissions, such as the issue of incinerators, from both representatives, the majority and the opposition, each of these representatives requested a review of the law on investigative commissions." , said Felaj.

Asked about the participation of the opposition, Felaj said that he asked for the members of the opposition, but no one wanted to sit at the table.

"The right to establish Investigative Commissions has been recognized as the right of the opposition, but it is not an unlimited right. ¼ of the deputies of the Assembly have the right to propose the establishment of an investigative commission. The law of 2002 was the law that detailed this request for minority rights. I requested that the members of the opposition could be represented in the Ad-hock committee. I have also followed the positions of the members of the opposition carefully and it does not appear to me that anyone there wanted us to sit at a working table and work with a common table. Time does not wait. We must discuss this with the three initiatives, one of Tabak and one of Spaho. The work of the investigative commissions has gone outside the framework of the Constitution of Albania. We want to we make a clear division so as not to replace the work of the prosecution and the Court." - said Felaj.
