Lulzim Basha's Euro-Atlantic Coalition has filed a complaint with SPAK against Sali Berisha's candidate for MP in the Durrës district, former prosecutor Arian Ndoja. In the complaint filed, the Euro-Atlantic Coalition requests the initiation of investigations against Ndoja for the criminal offenses of "Active corruption in elections" and "Threat or violence against election participants."
In the complaint filed with SPAK, according to the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Ndoja is suspected of having exerted direct pressure on citizens not to vote for other political entities, and according to them, has publicly claimed connections with individuals from the criminal world, with the aim of intimidating voters and influencing the vote.
"The May 11 elections must be held in a free, fair and impartial manner, free from the influence of organized criminal groups or forms of vote buying," the official statement states.
According to the complainants, these suspicions conflict with the objectives of the Electoral Crime Investigation Strategy approved by SPAK itself, which includes the active investigation of cases of pressure, intimidation or the involvement of criminal elements in the electoral process.
The Euro-Atlantic Coalition calls on the Special Prosecutor's Office to immediately register the criminal report, conduct the necessary investigations, and protect the integrity of the electoral process through swift and decisive action.
