Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha spoke about his visit to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
While introducing the candidates for MPs for the May 11 elections, Berisha said that an official dinner planned for Prime Minister Rama at the Council of Europe was canceled. He added that Rama was the first guest whose dinner was canceled.
"This morning I left the capital of Europe, Strasbourg, for Lezha and I cannot help but convey to you the warmest greetings from the group of European People's Parties in the Council of Europe, the Parliamentary Assembly, and the group of Democrats and Conservatives whose eyes and minds are focused on the victory of the opposition in Albania, on its dominance over the narco-state and the salvation of Albania."
Friends, I came back very grateful, I came back truly optimistic and confident that the support of our friends is greater than ever.
But I want to tell you here that I also felt a real sense of shame, because in the oldest temple of European democracy, the temple of values, freedoms and human rights and free elections, Edi Rama had his dinner suspended. Yes.
"Becoming like this, the first invited guest whose dinner was canceled. However, I guarantee you that the respect for Albania and Albanians, the support of the parliamentarians of the center-right and conservative groups is extraordinary and I represented each of you there, I represented your will. Of course, I represented every Albanian who knows how to behave like an Albanian and does not force the host to slam the door in their face," said Berisha from Lezha.
