EU Integration/ Vučić's confidant stings Rama: He violates the
Edi Rama and Ana Brnabic

The former prime minister hinted that Serbia is being punished by the EU for its friendly stance towards Russia, and not for any real democratic backsliding...

Montenegro and Albania are the two Western Balkan countries that he considers as potential candidates for new memberships in the European Union. Prime Minister Edi Rama considers it a success of his government and the best response to anyone who criticizes or accuses his government, alluding to the blocking of the integration process.

"They said that the European path was blocked, Albania was punished, our government was isolated. They were deceived by the evil mind and were shamefully defeated! On May 26, the Intergovernmental Conference successfully seals the introductory phase and opens the closing phase of the negotiations. We have climbed the most difficult peak!" , said Edi Rama a day ago, in his podcast, which is broadcast every Sunday on social networks.

And while Rama in Tirana considers EU integration the result of reforms and the fulfillment of Albania's obligations to Brussels, in Belgrade he has a different approach regarding the Union's entire behavior towards the Western Balkan countries.

Edi Rama and Aleksandar Vučić proposed, through a joint editorial published in the German media, a new formula for EU integration, where Albania and Serbia would become members without voting rights. This idea caused a series of reactions, opposition from Brussels and some of the main states of the Union, but recently it was the German Chancellor, Merz, who proposed it as a formula in the case of Ukraine, even though Kiev does not agree with a “membership without voting rights”.

Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic says the European Union's recent approach to enlargement is unfair and argued that the rules of the game have changed since Serbia began membership negotiations in 2014.

“The EU is changing its stance on enlargement and it is clear that this is becoming an increasingly hot topic,” said Ana Brnabić, president of the National Assembly of Serbia and former prime minister, during the GLOBSEC Forum in Prague.

According to her, this new approach is particularly evident in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

"When we started this process in 2014, there was a gradual harmonisation with the common foreign and security policy, and it was required to be 100 percent harmonised only before joining the EU. Now these rules of the game have changed, but I don't think this is fair," she said.

Serbia received the status of candidate country for EU membership in 2012 and opened negotiations on harmonisation chapters with the European bloc, known as "clusters", in 2014.

Asked by Politico whether Serbia's pro-Moscow stance is complicating the EU membership process, Brnabić replied that "this certainly does not make the situation easier for us, which is more than clear, since we have not opened any new clusters in the European integration process since December 2021."

While other Western Balkan countries, such as Albania and Montenegro, have made progress in their EU accession negotiations, Serbia's negotiations have stalled. But according to Brnabić, this is because Serbia is not "fully aligned with the EU's Foreign and Security Policy."

The former prime minister also said that the narrative of democratic regression in Serbia is unfair and claimed that the country is being singled out for the same reason.

“We saw, for example, interestingly, the use of tear gas and water cannons against protesters in Albania, but no one said a word,” Brnabic said, referring to recent opposition-led protests that ended in clashes between protesters and police.

She then added, "and why is this happening? Because Albania is 100 percent harmonized with the common foreign and security policy, and then you [the EU] turn a blind eye to everything."

Whereas in the case of Serbia, false narratives are pushed to a considerable extent and different standards are applied . "

Prime Minister Edi Rama has long pursued a policy that in exchange for international support accepts everything asked of him, or implements every order given, despite appearing aggressive and dismissive in domestic politics. This has led him to install what is considered an "autocratic regime" often drawing parallels with what Aleksandar Vučić has installed in Serbia or Erdogan in Turkey. /Pamphlet/

Megjithate duhet te mbahet nje gje parasysh: Situata aktuale ne shqiperi, lidhur me korrupsionin, krimin ,trafiqet, larjen e parave, gjendjen ne sigurine ushqimore etj, i atribojne "pjesen kryesore si merite" kryeministrit Edi Rama. Vetem rasti Ballukut flet shume, apo i F. Krifces etj.
