Former Democratic Party MP Fatbardh Kadilli has criticized the current situation in the Democratic Party. He stated that the party has lost its democratic spirit and has transformed into a structure dominated by a single individual.
Kadilli commented on the electoral process within the Democratic Party, where Sali Berisha was reconfirmed as the party's leader. He described the elections as a "theater", adding that in reality the DP today functions as 'the party of Berisha and Berisha's supporters'.
According to Kadilli, the main problem lies in the fact that the party is no longer built on democratic institutions and principles, but on the figure of a single leader.
He also said that Berisha's return after Lulzim Basha's departure did not bring real change, but only deepened the crisis and divisions within the blue headquarters.
Kadilli stated that a large part of the Democrats continue to support Berisha, despite the positions of international allies, considering this as a triumph of "Berishism" within the party.
"The party that is today called the DP is the party of Berisha and the Berisha supporters. The party had a Berisha core and this remains directly linked to the individual. This is not a good event, but it is a reality. It has degenerated into a party that has returned from the worst legacy, the party of the individual," Kadilli told "Abc News".
He further added that the presidential elections no longer have any meaning as long as Berisha continues to lead the party, ironically suggesting that a "Berisha article" could be included in the statute, according to which there will be no elections as long as he is at the head of the DP.
Following his statement, Kadilli said that Berisha's return was the "main damage" done to the Democratic Party, as according to him it has damaged the political future of the opposition force and its relationship with international strategic partners.
"There are forms of personal parties in the world, but I would say that what was called the Basha article should be replaced with the Berisha article and as long as Berisha is in power, there should be no elections. It would be more serious if they did not hold elections. I have said that the return of Berisha to replace Basha was the same thing and was the main damage that was done to the DP. A large part of them chose Berisha even though they would be facing a strategic ally, America or the EU, they chose him because they are Berisha supporters. Berisha killed the future of the party," declared the former DP MP.

PD nuk ka qenë kurrë parti politike.Kjo organizatë ju dha si pronë nga byroja politike Saliut për të bërë një zbritje të butë nga komunizmi ekstrem në një anarshi ekstreme,në mënyrë që të mbahej pushteti ekonomik nga pinjollët e Byrosë.Sigurimi i Shtetit i afroi grupin e madh të rrugaçëve dhe kriminelëve që kishte skeduar dhe kështu u krijua fiction i pluralizmit dhe demokracisë. Tropojani Berisha,siç ja do krahina,i tradhëtoi byroistët dhe Ramizin dhe i burgosi sapo erdhi në pushtet dhe prandaj ata e rrëzuan më 1997. Nano e respektoi marrëveshjen e San Egidios më vonë,por Edi Rama jo. Ai zotëroi çdo pushtet dhe e nënshtroi Berishën me ndihmën e ndërkombëtarëve duke e kapur te korrupsioni i familjes Berisha. Filmi ka mbaruar,dhe Kadilli pavarësisht se kush është ka të drejtë. Kushdo që qendron pas Saliut e bën ose nga frika( ai e ka bërë me prona) ose nga qejfi të dëgjojë pordhët e një plaku.
