An interpellation on the criminal amnesty has been requested by several DP deputies with the Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja.

On behalf of the Democratic Party, Enkelejd Alibeaj asked several questions, for which he demanded answers from the minister.

According to Alibeaj, the government combined votes with a part of the opposition to get the corrupt out of jail and keep the protestors in jail.

" They united the votes to get the corrupt out of jail and to leave the protesters in jail. It is not only the responsibility of the minister, but also of this other person" , said Alibeaj.

Alibeaj said that the real reason for approving the amnesty at night was only for political reasons.

" The media have reported, according to the information received by SPAK, more than 100 convicted for corruption were amnestied. A law prepared in the dark of the night, in violation of the parliamentary procedure, quickly, the offspring of an immoral transversal political bargain, was released from prison or reduced the sentence of over 100 convicted for corruption (and most likely others will continue to benefit in the coming days).

Over 110 MPs came together to get the corrupt out of jail.

What the public is interested in knowing is why the convicts have been released from GJKKO. Who were the proponents? Were the changes consulted with justice institutions? You have not yet published the list of beneficiaries.

What was the number of beneficiaries from GJKKO convicts? I don't want to make a disgusting game of numbers, but the real reasons for the approval of the amendments at night are political. It is well known what are the messages sent to the Albanian public through this amnesty," said Alibeaj.
