Analyst Frrok Çupi has stated that Lulzim Basha is the only legal authority in DP, while adding that all others were dependent on him.
Invited to abcnews, Çupi said that Basha is right when he says that he never ran away.
"Everything happens in a reality where we are today. He is right when he says he never ran away. The only legal authority in DP was Lulzim Basha, all others were dependent on him. It is a party with a problem of informality, everything is informal. Whether or not Basha will be at the head of the DP depends on the elections that will be held there. There are situations where the pro or anti-American attitude of the Albanian people is put to the test. Berisha has ruined the state and democracy in Albania," said Çupi.
Furthermore, the analyst Çupi says that Lulzim Basha, despite his mistakes, is the most reliable factor to remove Sali Berisha. According to him, Basha is the only person who committed an act against Berisha and pro-Americans.
"There are some dilemmas whether the allies want to keep this party or not and whether they want to strip it of anti-Americanism and the terrible influence of Berisha. It has been seen as clear that the US admires a party no matter how small. Will Basha remove Berisha? It is the most reliable factor to remove Berisha. Why? There are two issues, the internationals believe. The only one who committed an act against Berisha and in favor of the Americans was Lulzim Basha, the others flirt with Berisha.
And America, just as it does not trust Kurti of Kosovo, it cannot trust any of them anymore, because they have all given Berisha that we are with you. Of course, America knows this, but is Basha the perfect man? No, he is not, he is a man full of mistakes, a flawed leader in a completely flawed party. To share this thing is not shared in a day, but it is the man who can be trusted to bring the boat to the shore so that it does not sink. Otherwise, it will be drowned, but it is not a big problem, but it is the last chance of DP whether this remaining part will be pro-Western or not", said Çupi.
