Today's parliamentary session was engulfed in intense debates between the majority and the opposition, following the US embassy's statement that Albania may be threatened by Iran.
During the discussions, the head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, reacted harshly to the opposition, having a direct clash with MP Fatmir Mediu.
At the height of the tension, Balla told Mediu: "Answer the justice system, don't come here at all! Go and answer the justice system, you killed 26 people. You've been treating us like representatives of the Americans for 20 years. Stop treating us like representatives of Congress."
On the other hand, Mediu reacted briefly during the debate, saying: "enough is enough."
Balla accused the opposition of using the embassy's statement for political purposes, emphasizing that there are no concrete concerns from Albanian institutions about a real threat.
Meanwhile, earlier, Fatmir Mediu had requested a meeting of the National Security Council, arguing that the situation should be treated seriously after the warning of a possible danger from Iran.
